Luna is a space-age kid inspired by the Apollo 11 moon landing and her parents, who both work in STEM fields. She learns that big problems can be solved by believing that there are solutions, even in the face of obstacles and setbacks. Readers follow along with Luna on Moon Sunday (July 20, 1969) as she anxiously awaits the televised landing, explains physics concepts to her younger brother, and with the help of her family, builds a simulated lander out of cardboard.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Deanne Bryce is a teacher-turned-entrepreneur with many stories to tell. Moon Sunday, her first picture book, is inspired by her memories of a very long day in 1969: First watching the Apollo 11 landing and then waiting, like Luna, for the astronauts to take their first steps on the moon.
